NEWCASTLE UNITED FOUNDATION

They are Newcastle United’s charity but they are independent of Newcastle United Football Club. Since 2008, they, Newcastle United Foundation, have been proudly harnessing this power and excitement to effect positive change.

They have been delivering a range of programmes which allow them to engage with refugees on a weekly basis. Since January 2019 they have been delivering a weekly ‘Street Football’ session in the West End Of Newcastle which is an area featuring an above average number of refugees and BAME residents. This additional support also leads to refugees signing up to longer term Foundation support programmes such as NE1 Works (employability support) or their Princes rust Team programme. The programme included helping the refugees with their English language skills, learning about English cultures/attitudes and build up a support network of professionals and friends. They also run Premier League Kicks, which is a structured drop-in football programme for 8 to 18-year olds.
