Fundação Benfica (Benfica Foundation) is a non-profit organization, created on the 27th of January of 2009, recognized as the first foundation to be created within a Portuguese football club, Sport Lisboa e Benfica, embodying the Club´s own social awareness.

On the area of refugee’s inclusion, they have worked already in small initiatives with two organisations that have its core responsibility in this area. One is the High Commission in Portugal for Migration and the other is the Portuguese Council for Refugees. With both they have already made some offers like invitations to matches and guided tours for refugees to feel welcomed and further integrated in our society. Furthermore, they also have experienced football activities by hosting a mixed training with their Walking Football teams and it was a good and positive experience. On the other hand, they have been interacting since 2009 with many multicultural entities, projects, and participants.
