SHEFFIELD UNITED COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

Sheffield United Community Foundation works in the areas of sport participation, education, health and social inclusion with the aim of a healthier, more educated, respectful and integrated society in Sheffield community.

Bramall Lane Stadium is based in the centre of Sheffield and is surrounded by culturally diverse communities. The areas include a combination of social housing, private landlords and family owned properties. In these areas they have a large number of refugees and asylum seekers that are housed there when they arrive in the country. Many young people aged between 7 and 25 years currently engage in their community engagement project Premier League Kicks. Amongst this group they have children and young people that have refugee or asylum seeker status. As well as this, through their Premier League Primary Stars programme that is delivered in Primary Schools, they engage with the wider community and possibly with young refugees and asylum seekers that have not yet discovered PL Kicks but attend School.
